As small business owners, Dan and I attend many conferences and training each year. But none can quite compare to Social Media Marketing World.
If you aren’t too sure what Social Media Marketing World is all about, let me give you some more details.
It is a conference designed to bring you the most up-to-date, advanced training on social media marketing. It is hosted by Social Media Examiner and brings in the top speakers, trainers, and experts in their respected field.
I have been to well over 500 events in my career, but there are some special things that Social Media Examiner does with this event that makes it truly stand out.
So if you are on the fence, let me give you my top 7 reasons to go to Social Media Marketing World in San Diego.
You will be gathered with over 180 experts in social media marketing. Where else can you go to be surrounded by people that are so entrenched and passionate about this topic? Only Social Media Marketing World offers that.
I am talking about real experts like:
- Kim Garst - Founder of Boom! Social (An incredible teacher!!)
- Mark Schaefer - Author, Social Media Explained (ONE OF MY ALL TIME FAVORITES!)
- Scott Monty - #1 of the world’s top 15 social business leaders. (One of my favorites!)
- Mari Smith - Co-author, Facebook Marketing: An Hour a Day
- Jay Baer - Author, Youtility
- Ray Edwards
- Ann Handley - Author, Everybody Writes
- Michael Stelzner - Author, Launch
- Michael Hyatt - Author, Platform
- Amy Porterfield - Co-author, Facebook Marketing All-In-One for Dummies
You will be learning from the best, so there are no mistakes or trial and error. Even though I have over 15 years in social media experience, I discovered ideas I had never heard, gained knowledge to help me better implement for my clients, and even learned some tips and tricks that increased my productivity with tools and platforms.
You get to meet people from all over the world who are like-minded and want to learn and grow, just like you! The organized networking is the best I have ever seen. Both online and off, before the conference and during, there is no shortage of opportunities to get to know people in your industry, find prospects, and get advice.
4.) Questions and Answers
You can ask questions LIVE and get them answered by people who really know what they are talking about!
It is in San Diego, California... there is no better spot to enjoy gorgeous weather and views than San Diego.
6.) Michael Stelzner
Let me explain… Michael is the Founder of Social Media Examiner, but Michael also loves people and is a man of integrity to his core. On the day of registration, he was in the line shaking hands, giving directions, snapping selfies, and making sure everyone was having a great time.
I offered some feedback as the conferences wrapped up, and he not only took a note about it, but referred to it later in the day. If a company mimics its leadership, then I want to stick very close to Social Media Examiner with a leader like Michael at the helm. He is as authentic as they come.
7.) Amazing Customer Service
From the entire staff! Phil Mershon offered top-notch leadership, and his team gave superb customer service every time. Every staff member was smiling and helpful from start to finish. They clearly love being a part of the event, and it showed in the service they offered.
Those are the main reasons that Social Media Marketing World is by far my favorite conference of the year.
Lastly, I would suggest if there is just NO WAY you can get to the live event, check out the virtual pass. With the Virtual Pass, you can watch all the sessions in your PJ’s while eating some Cocoa Puffs. You get all the same content without the travel.
The Virtual Pass is a great alternative if you know that you can’t get away from your business for a full week. But eventually, for the networking and the experience, I would highly suggest you make the trip to the live event.
