Social Media

PostPlanner is an awesome place to come up with all kinds of content for your social media accounts

Hootsuite will help you come up with great content to share via social media, schedule it, see it all on a calendar, manage multiple accounts and monitor them all. By far the best tool we have see for making management simple!


Socialcast is social media for enterprise-level businesses. One stop shop for all you social media needs. (However, it is for bigger business, so using other tools may be more useful at first)


Buffer is a site that let’s you schedule on just about all the social media platforms except Instagram. and it’s functionality is super easy to use!

Social Mention allows you to “listen” to the conversations that are happening online. You can just type in your topics, brand or keyword and Social Mention will return the results for you.

Marden Kane is your go-to agency for running contests on your Facebook Pages. If you’re looking for the done-for-you way of doing these contests, check them out!
scoopit is a free social media curation site that will put many forms of content at your fingertips. If you are not quite ready for PostPlanner yet, is a happy middle ground.

Canva is an AMAZING tool! If you are not a designer, or graphics have always scared you- Canva makes the creation of beautiful graphics so simple and easy! I promise, anyone can use this tool!

ReciteThis is a great tool to create quotes graphics of anything you choose – no designing needed!

PicMonkey lets you take on the role of a graphic designer, without having to have the same skills. PicMonkey makes it easy!

Webinarjam is one of the best profit producing promotional strategies that you can use in your business is a live webinar. Gives you the most flexibility, convenience, and ease of monetizing your webinars than any other webinar platform out there.

GoDaddy is a domain registration site. Buy domains, host your site, and they have tools to help you build it.

Bluehost is a server hosting site, with truly amazing customer service and some of the best pricing around. Starting at just $3.95 a month, it is hard to beat.

Aweber exceeds when it comes to sending emails that get delivered and that you can customize easily. And their customer service is outstanding- what more could you ask for?

Gravity allows you to create beautiful forms – this is a tool for the ‘non programmer’. For those of us that need to point and click to make things happen – this is for you!

Optimizely is perfect for A/B testing for your site and ads.

Gumroad allows you to easily sell physical and digital goods such as music, videos, photos, e-books, PDF’s, or software online.

LeadPages allows you to quickly and easily create professional looking landing pages to collect information from your potential customers. It’s flexible enough for nearly every business and they allow you to use it as a WordPress plug-in or host it on their servers.

OptimizePress is a WordPress Plugin and Theme that allows you to create quick, beautiful, professional, easily-integrated pages for your site, for sales, landing pages, launch funnels, authority blog sites, and even a membership portal! Lots of video tutorials make it easy, quick, and fun to use.

Use Evernote to take notes, save interesting web pages, create to-dos and shopping lists, attach images and PDFs, and so much more. Then, watch as it all instantly synchronizes from your laptop or Mac to your smartphone, tablet and the Web, allowing you to find your ideas, lists or memories at any time from anywhere.

17hats is an all-in-one business system. From booking clients, to managing projects, to controlling your finances, with 17hats you have everything you need to manage your business and clients anytime, anywhere.

Rapportive is an add-on for Firefox and Google Chrome that shows contact details and social connections inside your inbox.

Schedule Once is an application to make scheduling online meetings and appointments super easy!

Boomerang enhances your email experience. This app lets you send reminders to yourself to follow up, and you can even track the opens and clicks on links. It is a helpful (and free) tool for any business owner.

Sanebox instantly organizes your entire email mailbox. And more importantly, you can keep it that way! If you’re swimming in emails from every shopping special and website along with vital emails from customers and clients, this is the tool for you!

Textbroker – Get someone else to do the writing for you!

Upwork allows you to hire a freelancer for any and everything (except your personal errands) like web developers, creatives, writers, virtual assistants, customer service agents and accountants.

The Content Authority allows you to get all your online content written for you, the way you want, from talented writers.

TaskRabbit – This site specializes in getting your personal errands done!

Fancy Hands – Assistants based in the US that you can communicate with using any device at any time of the day!

IWriter – Writing for anything you can think of. You will find some of the best freelance writers here.

Call Ruby – By far the best “answering service” out there. You can have professional answer the phone and direct the call. You can have them take messages and then email and/or text you the message as well.

99Designs – Get ideas for your logo from various people and award the prize money to the one you like best. You can ask for changes and edits, and work with talented designers until you get the results you want.

Fiverr – All kinds of services here, starting at $5. And yes, you can get good work for just $5, but the good ones typically are backlogged for a few days to over a week. If you don’t have the patience, you can always pay a few bucks more to move to the front of the line though.
Writing and Content Creation

The Hemingway Editor for Mac and PC highlights common errors. Use it to catch wordy sentences, adverbs, passive voice, and dull, complicated words.

Scrivener is a powerful content-generation tool for writers that allows you to concentrate on composing and structuring long and difficult documents. While it gives you complete control of the formatting, its focus is on helping you get to the end of that awkward first draft.

Libsyn is an app/site that helps you create podcasts and distribute them to your audience.

Google Hangouts – It lets you speak to large audiences and record your sessions. A must-have tool for creating content!
meddle is a topic generator, so you can see what your circle is talking about. You can find the hottest trends, hashtags and topics in your niche. Curated content – fantastic tool!

MySpeed from speeds up or slows down online videos, like YouTube or Udemy. Good for speeding up to save time or slowing down to take notes.

Copyscape is an online tool to be sure no one is copying (stealing!) your work or content.
Business Networking
meetup is an excellent spot to find or list local events. Search your business topics and see who else is near you that is interested in, or doing events with those topics/interests.

Publisher’s Marketplace is a great place to meet professionals in your field, to find experts and to become an expert!

Triberr is a place to find people that have similar interests to you – a social networking site for professionals.

ZabaSearch is basically a giant database to search for specific professionals, or people with an expertise on certain topics.

Fastlane Forum enables you to connect with other business owners. bounce ideas off them and motivate each other.
